Payment Policy — How Payments Work on FAVA

FAVA uses Stripe Connect, a secure, industry-standard payment processor, to handle all payments between Users. FAVA does not store or access full financial information.

This Payment Policy explains how payers are charged, how earners are paid, what fees apply, and how optional tips support the platform.

For Payers: How Payments Work for the Payer (Person Posting a Request)

When you post a request that includes a price (e.g., $20), you will pay:

  • Exactly the amount listed ($20)
  • No extra Stripe fees
  • No platform fees
  • No service charges
     

You only pay after the helper marks the request as completed.

All financial details are processed securely through Stripe.

For Helpers (Earners): How Payouts Work for Helpers (Earners)

When you accept and complete a request, you are paid through Stripe Connect Standard.

Your payout equals:


Payment Amount − Stripe Fees − Fava Platform Fee
 

Where:

  • Stripe fees are typically 2.9% + $0.30
     
  • FAVA’s Platform Fee = 10% capped at $5
     

Example:
Posted Amount = $20
Stripe Fee ≈ $0.88
Platform Fee = $2.00 (10%)
Your payout: $17.12


FAVA clearly displays the exact payout amount BEFORE you accept any request.

Platform Fee (For Earners Only)

FAVA deducts a platform fee to support the cost of:

  • improving the app
  • security & infrastructure
  • support features
  • Stripe platform costs
  • server & administration 
  • continued development
     

This fee is never charged to the payer.

The fee is:

10% (capped at $5)

This gives earners predictable, transparent earnings.

Optional "Support FAVA" Tips (Payer→FAVA)

Users may choose to support the app with a voluntary tip.

  • Tips go directly to FAVA
  • Tips do NOT incur platform fee 
  • Stripe’s card processing fee applies
  • Tips are never required

This helps keep FAVA affordable and community-driven..

Refunds, Disputes, and Failed Payments

FAVA does not manage or guarantee refunds between users.

Stripe may automatically refund payments when:

  • a card is declined
  • a payment cannot be authorized
  • a dispute is filed

Users are responsible for:

  • disputing charges with their bank
  • resolving service disagreements with each other

FAVA is not a party to service agreements and does not mediate disputes.

Taxes

Earners are solely responsible for:

  • reporting earnings
  • paying taxes
  • consulting a tax professional if needed

FAVA does not issue tax documents unless required by Stripe.

Security

All transactions use Stripe’s encrypted, PCI-compliant payment infrastructure.

FAVA does not store:

  • bank numbers
  • full card numbers 
  • routing numbers
